Residential Harmonic Injection Models Based on Field Measurements

In recent years, harmonic current levels have increased in residential distribution networks due to the growing penetration of nonlinear loads at customer premises. To properly model injection residences, probabilistic models that account for stochastic behavior domestic are needed. As a part study reported this paper, field measurement campaign was performed 24 dwellings during one-week period with one-minute resolution. Harmonic magnitudes and phase angles odd orders up 25th as well active reactive power demanded were recorded. By applying two different unsupervised learning techniques (i.e., nonparametric density estimation Gaussian mixture models) these measurements, individual sites been derived. Statistical probability distributions determined magnitude each order segmented demand intervals. The developed validated on test feeder by comparing voltages caused synthetically generated currents those obtained from measurements. Both results detailed data defining made public an Open Science database repository.
